Mindful meditation\/movement meditation<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\nStress and anxiety are are a common part of life for many people.<\/strong> Starting a new job, moving or a relationship ending are normal triggers for short-term anxiety.<\/strong> However, some people suffer from debilitating anxiety<\/strong> that can come in bursts at any time without warning.<\/p>\nStress can be a killer, literally. Left untreated, anxiety can cause high blood pressure, heart disease and depression<\/strong>, which could lead to suicide. While stress and anxiety aren\u2019t the same things, they do feed off each other and are usually diagnosed together.<\/p>\nIt\u2019s estimated that 40 million adults in the US alone<\/strong> have problematic anxiety. Problematic anxiety means that it interferes with their life.<\/p>\nSymptoms of anxiety can include emotional, behavioral and physical symptoms<\/strong> such as:<\/p>\n\n- Constant worry<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Difficulty sleeping<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Tense muscles<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Clammy (cold) or sweaty hands and feet<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Irrational fears<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Shortness of breath<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Avoidance of social situations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
